Muma Bahu Skin Pik Block Bilum Clutch

Bag Number 6621

  • Our Limited-Edition Craft Series brings together the weavers’ most loved patterns and palettes, thoughtfully handcrafted in small editions. Each design is a unique work of art, created in a numbered series by collectives of 10 to 15 weavers. This collaboration has helped us connect to an additional 100 women living near Goroka in Papua New Guinea. Working in this way provides meaningful and sustainable income to support the women and their communities.
  • The Skin Pik design is local to Goroka and symbolizes when when women came together to eat, those with higher status were treated to finer parts of the pig, the women of lower status were left to wait. The design speaks of independence and empowerment.
  • This Bilum is handwoven from wool and acrylic yarn using traditional weaving techniques.
  • This clutch is lined and features a frame closure and internal pocket.
