Limited-Edition Craft Series

  • Our Limited-Edition Craft Series brings together the weavers’ most loved patterns and palettes, thoughtfully handcrafted in small editions. Each design is a unique work of art, created in a numbered series by collectives of 10 to 15 weavers. This collaboration has helped us connect to an additional 100 women living near Goroka in Papua New Guinea. Working in this way provides meaningful and sustainable income to support the women and their communities.
  •  The Hourglass shaped Kundu Drum is used across Papua New Guinea in daily life and ceremonies. The Kundu design is inspired by this national icon, commonly believed to be the voice of their ancestors.
  • This Bilum is handwoven from wool and acrylic yarn using traditional weaving techniques.
  • This clutch is lined and features a frame closure and internal pocket.

Ingavi is an artisan weaver based in Goroka. She created this Bilum design by hand over six weeks. Ingavi is part of the Goroka collective ofweaversled by Florence or Bilum Meri,who is aggregator and brand cultural advisor. Florence has been vital to the success of Among Equals since its founding and is fiercely passionate about building a platform for theweavers. "I am strong for theweavers, I see them as sisters. These women now have the strength to stand up and be their own trader. It is a business for them, too, and that is very empowering."
