Description Description

The Tire Track Design mirrors the marks left in the mud by a bus’ tires. On the way to the bilum market, weavers check the tire tracks to determine when the next bus will arrive.
This Bilum is handwoven from acrylic and wool yarn as well as up-cycled knitwear using traditional weaving techniques.
Small size body and short strap length.

Weaver Details Weaver Details

This Bilum was lovingly woven by Tama Jackson. Tama lives with her husband and son in Fanuifa, a small village in Goroka. Tama uses the income she earns from Bilum to support her family and provide schooling for her son. Her signature pattern is the Kundu design woven in vibrant hues.

Care Care

To clean bag, remove pom pom and tassel, cold machine wash and line dry.
