Working in this way provides meaningful and sustainable income to support the women and their communities.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eSkin Pik is a very significant design to the women of Goroka, it is their way to reclaim their status in society. The story goes that at each important life event, a marriage, buying a new house or graduating school a pig is killed and shared amongst the village. The best cuts are given to the most senior people, usually men in positions of respect whilst the skin of the pig is given to the women.
